Translation project file

About

A translation project is used to translate new and modified content to any of the active languages in Skribenta. You work in a translation project file to translate new and modified source language content in publications and content files.

When the translation work is done, you update the translation memory to create new translation blocks. When you edit a translated content file, you only need to translate the new and modified content as untouched content does not need to be translated again.

A translation project is also used to add new translations in existing translation blocks in the translation memory. In this case, you can use different query methods to fetch the translation blocks from the translation memory you need to add translations to.

The work to translate content from a source language to one (1) target language, is called a translation job. When you create a translation project file it contains a table. In this table, a set of two table rows below the table header corresponds to a translation job.

The tasks you can do depends on your user role.

It is possible to add descriptive titles to define the work done in the translation project file.

When you create a new translation project file, the frontmatter contains a maintitle, a subtitle and a comment wrapper.

Put the caret in these elements and type descriptive titles to define the translation project file.

You can create a new translation job in the translation project file.

To create a new translation job, expand the Language section, place the caret at the end of the table, in the bottom right table cell, and press Tab. Then, two new table rows appears making up the new translation job.

You can delete the translation job in the translation project file.

To delete the translation job, delete the two rows making up the translation job. To delete table rows, see Deleting rows.
