Copying content

Background

Starting point

The procedure in this topic assumes Skribenta is installed and configured for normal operation, and:

You have logged into Skribenta.
You are assigned to one of the following user roles: content provider, technical writer or administrator.
You have selected the workspace you want to work in.
A content file or a configuration file is created in the workspace.
You have browsed to and opened the file in the Workspace view or the Publications view.
The file has an XML element that can contain text, such as a paragraph, a title, or a table caption.

Your need

You need to copy some content in your file to the Clipboard.

The possibility

It is possible to copy content in the file to the clipboard in different ways. It is possible to:

copy content in an element to the clipboard

or
copy one or several elements (including all their content) to the clipboard.

Open the file, then copy a selection or element(s) in the file to the Clipboard.

Procedure

1. Make sure that the step(s) in section "Starting point" (see section "Background" above) are performed.

2. In your file content, select either:

element content that you want to copy

or
one or several elements that you want to copy.

3. Press Ctrl+C.

The selection is copied to the Clipboard.

Alternative procedure: Copying a selection using the toolbar

1. Make sure that the step(s) in section "Starting point" (see section "Background" above) are performed.

2. In your file content, select either:

element content that you want to copy

or
one or several elements that you want to copy.

3. Right-click the selection.

A toolbar opens.

4. On the toolbar, click Copy.

The selection is copied to the Clipboard.

Alternative procedure: Copying an element using the toolbar

1. Make sure that the step(s) in section "Starting point" (see section "Background" above) are performed.

2. In your file content, right-click an element.

A pop-up list opens.

3. In the pop-up list, select the element icon.

A toolbar opens.

4. On the toolbar, click Copy.

The element and its content are copied to the Clipboard.

Alternative procedure: Copying an element using a keyboard shortcut

1. Make sure that the step(s) in section "Starting point" (see section "Background" above) are performed.

2. In your file content, put the caret immediately before or inside an element.

3. Press Ctrl+C.

The element and its content are copied to the Clipboard.
