Creating an unordered list

Background

Starting point

The procedure in this topic assumes Skribenta is installed and configured for normal operation, and:

You have logged into Skribenta.
You are assigned to one of the following user roles: content provider, technical writer or administrator.
You have selected the workspace you want to work in.
A content file or a configuration file is created in the workspace.
You have browsed to and opened the file in the Workspace view or the Publications view.

Your need

You need to list items in an unordered manner.

The possibility

It is possible to create unordered lists. The list element is the top element in a list. The list element may contain zero, one or more listitem elements as children. It is possible to create sub lists in lists.

In an unordered list, each listitem element is often bulleted. The specific bullet symbols are defined in the style sheet. Often, there are different symbols for lists at different levels. The value list-unordered on the class attribute on the list element makes an unordered list.

Put the caret in the file content, then click Block > List > Unordered on the top toolbar.

Procedure

1. Make sure that the step(s) in section "Starting point" (see section "Background" above) are performed.

2. In your file content, put the caret where you want to create an unordered list.

3. On the top toolbar, click Block > List > Unordered.

An unordered list element is created, containing a listitem element with an empty paragraph element inside.

4. Type your text in the paragraph element.

5. If you want to create another paragraph element in the same listitem element, click Format > Paragraph on the top toolbar or press Shift+Enter.

6. To create the next listitem element with an empty paragraph element inside, press Enter.

7. Repeat from step 4 until your unordered list is finished.

It is possible to make sub lists inside a listitem element.

Alternative procedure: Transforming paragraphs to an unordered list using the top toolbar

1. Make sure that the step(s) in section "Starting point" (see section "Background" above) are performed.

2. In your file content, select the paragraphs that you want to transform into an unordered list.

3. On the top toolbar, click Block > List > Unordered.

An unordered list element is created, containing listitem elements for each selected paragraph from the previous step.

Alternative procedure: Transforming paragraphs to an unordered list using the toolbar

1. Make sure that the step(s) in section "Starting point" (see section "Background" above) are performed.

2. In your file content, select the paragraphs that you want to transform into an unordered list.

3. Right-click the selection.

A toolbar opens.

4. On the toolbar, click Transform > List > Unordered list.

An unordered list element is created, containing listitem elements for each selected paragraph from the previous step.
