Creating italic text

Background

Starting point

The procedure in this topic assumes Skribenta is installed and configured for normal operation, and:

You have logged into Skribenta.
You are assigned to one of the following user roles: content provider, technical writer or administrator.
You have selected the workspace you want to work in.
A content file or a configuration file is created in the workspace.
You have browsed to and opened the file in the Workspace view or the Publications view.
The file has an XML element that can contain text, such as a paragraph, a title, or a table caption.

Your need

You need to create italic text in your file content.

The possibility

It is possible to make text italic. You can make certain words italic or all make all content in an element italic.

Procedure

Typing text in italic

1. Make sure that the step(s) in section "Starting point" (see section "Background" above) are performed.

2. In your file content, put the caret where you want to create italic text.

3. On the top toolbar, click Format > Italic (or press Ctrl+I).

A paragraph element containing an empty italic element is created.

4. Type your text in the italic element.

Alternative procedure: Making existing text italic

1. Make sure that the step(s) in section "Starting point" (see section "Background" above) are performed.

2. In your file content, select the text that you want to make italic.

3. On the top toolbar, click Format > Italic (or press Ctrl+I).

The selected text is placed inside an italic element.

Alternative procedure: Making an element content italic

1. Make sure that the step(s) in section "Starting point" (see section "Background" above) are performed.

2. In your file content, right-click the element that you want to make italic.

A pop-up list opens.

3. In the pop-up list, select the element icon.

A toolbar opens.

4. On the toolbar, click Format > Italic.

The element content is now italic.

The attribute style with the value font-style:italic has been added to the element.
