Inserting a special character
The procedure in this topic assumes Skribenta is installed and configured for normal operation, and:

You have logged into Skribenta.

You are assigned to one of the following user roles: content provider, technical writer or administrator.

You have selected the workspace you want to work in.

A content file or a configuration file is created in the workspace.

You have browsed to and opened the file in the Workspace view or the Publications view.

The file has an XML element that can contain text, such as a paragraph, a title, or a table caption.
You need to insert a special character in your file content.

Put the caret where you want to insert the special character, then click Inline > Character on the top toolbar and insert a special character.

Procedure

1. Make sure that the step(s) in section "Starting point" (see section "Background" above) are performed.
The Character toolbar opens.

Symbols and then click a character on the Symbols tab to insert a symbol character.

Latin and then click a character on the Latin tab to insert a Latin character.

Greek and then click a character on the Greek tab to insert a Greek character.

Unicode to insert a character using a Unicode number:
1. Type a Unicode number in the Unicode Number box.

Hex to use a hexadecimal Unicode number.

Awesome to insert an Awesome icon.
A preview of the character is displayed.
3. Click Insert to insert the character.

Chinese to insert Chinese characters:
You need to configure your computer operating system properly to be able to type Chinese characters using your keyboard.
2. Click Insert to insert the Chinese characters.

Prev and then click a character on the Prev tab to insert a character that you previously have inserted.

NBS to insert a non-breaking space character.

Soft Hyphen to insert a soft hyphen character.
The special character is inserted in your content.
