You need to evaluate conditions and resolve variables directly in your publication's content file without publishing.

It is possible to evaluate conditions and resolve variables directly in your publication's content file without publishing. However, this is not possible for included files.

Procedure

In the shown images, the XML tags are visible. To show XML tags, see Turning XML element tags on or off.

1. Make sure that the step(s) in section "Starting point" (see section "Background" above) are performed.

The content file opens, and any conditions are evaluated and variables resolved.

In order for variables to be resolved, they need to be defined in the publication's configuration file.

  • If a condition can be evaluated, it is highlighted with a background color:

    • green - if the condition is true

    • red - if the condition is false

  • If a variable can be resolved, the variable value is shown.

Conditions are not highlighted and variable values are not shown in included files, only in the content file directly connected to the publication.
