The procedure in this topic assumes Skribenta is installed and configured for normal operation, and:

You need to paste content from the Clipboard to the content of a file in Skribenta.

It is possible to paste content from the clipboard to the file.

About this task

This instruction tells you how to paste content from the Clipboard to the content of a file in Skribenta.

Open the file, then paste content from the Clipboard to the file content in Skribenta.

Procedure

1. Make sure that the step(s) in section "Starting point" (see section "Background" above) are performed.

  • If the content on the Clipboard is an image file, a pop-up list opens.

    • If you select Paste as an image or press Esc, the image is inserted into your file content.

    • If you select Paste as resource ID, the image file's resource ID is inserted into your file content.

    • If you select Paste as a figure wrapper, the image is inserted into your file content inside a figure wrapper.

  • If the content on the Clipboard is an XML file, a pop-up list opens.

    • If you select Paste as include, an include link to the copied file is created in your file content.

    • If you select Paste as link, a link to the copied file is created in your file content.

    • If you select Paste as resource ID, the copied file's resource ID is pasted into your file content.

  • If the content on the Clipboard are elements and/or text, the content on the Clipboard is inserted into your file content.

Depending on where you put the caret and depending on the type of content on the Clipboard, Skribenta may insert the content in new elements.

  • When copying an element with an ID, a suffix will be added to the ID when pasting in the same file. The suffix is a number that starts from 1 and increases each time the element is pasted.

  • When copying an element with an ID together with a link to that ID, the link will point to the new ID (with suffix) when pasting in the same file.

The content on the Clipboard is inserted in the element.

Depending on where you put the caret and depending on the type of content on the Clipboard, Skribenta may insert the content in new elements.
