Uploading files and folders
The procedure in this topic assumes Skribenta is installed and configured for normal operation, and:
-
You have logged into Skribenta.
-
You are assigned to one of the following user roles: content provider, technical writer or administrator.
-
You have selected the workspace you want to work in.
You need to import external files and folders to Skribenta. This can for example be image files or files created in other systems that have been converted to Flex DTD XML. If an uploaded folder contains files with relative links to files within the folder, the links are converted from relative to logical in Skribenta.
It is possible to upload external files and folders to Skribenta. To upload a folder and its content, it has to be a compressed ZIP folder.
This instruction tells you how to upload files and folders to Skribenta.
This is the Workspace view before uploading a folder:

The selected files or folders (with its content) are shown on the Upload tab with a message to the right of the file name:
-
New - if the file is new
-
Updated - if the file already exists, but its content is updated.
Only new and updated files can be uploaded.
A message from the browser opens.
The files or folders (with their content) are uploaded to the folder.
If you are uploading only one compressed ZIP folder and the ZIP folder contains the Skribenta generated file S_INF.xml, stored properties such as language codes, are automatically set on the uploaded files.
The file S_INF.xml is automatically generated by Skribenta when downloading a folder, see Downloading files and folders.
If an uploaded folder contains files with relative links to files within the folder, the links are converted from relative to logical.
