Moving files and folders
The procedure in this topic assumes Skribenta is installed and configured for normal operation, and:
-
You have logged into Skribenta.
-
You are assigned to one of the following user roles: content provider, technical writer or administrator.
-
You have selected the workspace you want to work in.
-
A content file or a configuration file is created in the workspace.
-
An image file is created (by uploading or dragging-and-dropping it) in the workspace.
-
A folder is created in the workspace.
Moving files (content files, configuration files and image files) and folders is a fundamental operation when maintaining and modifying the structure of the workspace and its files and folders.
It is possible to modify the structure of the workspace by moving the files and folders.
It is possible to move multiple resources simultaneously.
Moving a resource does not change the resource ID, which means that links to them are not broken. If the resource's parent folders are not working versions, they will be updated to new versions.
This instruction tells you how to move files and folders.
This is the Workspace view before moving a file:
This is the Workspace view after moving a file:
If the target and/or source folders were checked in before the move operation, they are now checked out to working version.
Browse to a folder or file (resource) in the Workspace view, then select the resource (or multiple resources) and do a cut operation. Browse to a folder and do a paste operation.
Alternatively, move the resource to the target folder using a drag-and-drop operation.
